A new way to gain authority to act for clients

By March 2015 the Revenue are going to introduce a Unique Agent Reference (UAR).

The new single procedure, where agents apply for a (UAR) will replace the existing processes and make registering as an agent quicker and easier.

Gaining authority by a 64-8 in the past has not always been easy!

Once we have our UAR, we will be able to use the new online agent authorisation service, making it quicker and easier to be authorised to act on your behalf for the main taxes.

Providing we meet certain criteria (which are currently being determined) we will also be able to self authorise and notify HMRC of new clients. HMRC will not need to issue an authorisation code to our clients and we won’t have to provide evidence of our client’s consent; however we will retain this for our records.

As your authorised agent we will be able to view information about your payments and liabilities across the main business taxes and access transactional services on your behalf, including new online services as they’re developed.

This should enable us to access information on a quicker basis to answer your important questions.
